New Owners of Death Row Banned From Selling 'The Chronic' Online

(AllHipHop News) The new owners of Death Row Records lost a round in court yesterday (April 19th), when a judge ruled that the label does not have the rights to sell Dr. Dre's hit album The Chronic digitally.

U.S. District Judge Christina Snyder ruled that Dr. Dre has never received the proper royalties from sales of the hit album The Chronic, which has sold over eight million copies since being released in 1992.

While The Chronic can still be online, Judge Snyder ruled that Dr. Dre should receive 100 percent of all of the proceeds from online sales of the album.

The judge also ruled that the new owners of Death Row Records do not have the rights to sell Dre's music from The Chronic on a compilation or any other albums.

The judge ruled that Death Row could only sell The Chronic in four formats: CD, cassette, vinyl and 8-Track.

Taliban claims responsibilty for attack on U.S. vehicles in Pakistan

Islamabad, Pakistan (CNN) -- The Taliban is claiming responsibility for an attack Friday on a convoy of U.S. Consulate vehicles in northwest Pakistan, saying it was in retaliation for the killing of Osama bin Laden. A car bomb targeted the vehicles in Peshawar, killing one person and wounding 11 others, police said. The bombing is the latest in a series of attacks in the nation following a raid this month by U.S. commandos that left the al Qaeda leader dead. In a telephone call to CNN, a Taliban spokesman said the remote-controlled car bomb attack was also retaliation over ongoing military operations targeting the militant group. The car bomb, packed with 50 kilograms (110 pounds) of explosives, detonated as the consulate cars passed by in Peshawar, said Liaqat Ali Khan, the police chief. IV Infections Examined After 9 Ala Hospital Deaths

Federal and state health officials were trying to figure out how intravenous feeding bags became contaminated with bacteria after nine critically ill patients died and 10 others were sickened at Alabama hospitals after being treated with the commonly used solutions. Health officials on Tuesday would not directly link the deaths to the outbreak of serratia marcescens bacteria at six hospitals, but the bags were pulled off the market. "There is nothing to suggest the deaths were directly related to the bacterial infection," said State Health Officer Donald Williamson who declined to give details on the patients including their ages and illnesses. On March 16, two hospitals reported increased cases of serratia marcescens to the Alabama Department of Public Health.
