2 dead, 4 wounded in California nightclub shooting


San Francisco (CNN) -- Two people died and four were wounded early Monday in a shooting outside an Oakland, California, nightclub, police said.

Investigators were looking for three suspects who may have been armed with an assault rifle, according to the Oakland Police Department.

Two of the people injured remained hospitalized in critical condition, the police department. Two others were hospitalized in stable condition, according to the department.

A second shooting was reported about a block away, police said, but it was unclear if the two incidents were related. The sole shooting victim in that incident was reported in stable condition, police said. Police do not have anyone in custody, the department said.
