Boston woman accused of having cocaine in diaper

An East Boston woman is being held on $250,000 bail today after law enforcement stopped her at Logan International Airport with more than 1,000 grams of cocaine in a “diaper-like” garment, state police said.

Karen Morla Ramos, 22, was arrested yesterday morning after disembarking from a JetBlue [JBLU] flight from Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic, state police said.

Authorities said Customs and Border Protection officials conducted a pat down search on Ramos after she provided “conflicting answers” about her travel.

“The pat down revealed a powdery substance concealed in a diaper-like garment Ramos was wearing under her outer clothing,” state police said in a statement.

The substance tested positive for cocaine and weighed a little bit more than 1,000 grams, state police said.

After her arraignment in East Boston District Court, the suspect’s lawyer said her client was a “drug mule.”

Toddler shoots mom dead, boy's father tells Florida police

(CNN) -- A toddler shot and killed his mother, the boy's father told South Florida police, who say they will talk to the 2-1/2-year-old. The father, who called 911, told police he was trying to take the firearm away from the child when it discharged. The boy's mother -- Julia Bennett, 33 -- was shot once in the back and died from the injury, said Miramar Police spokeswoman Tania Rues. "What we do know is that last Wednesday, shortly after 7 o'clock, we received a 911 call from a gentleman stating that his 2-1/2-year-old son accidentally shot his mother -- the boy's mother," Rues told HLN's Vinnie Politan. Rues said investigators will talk to the toddler about the shooting, but that "due to the age, we're not expecting to get much." The boy's father has not been identified by police. In a statement to AllHipHop, Dexter Isaac calls Jimmy Henchmen a government informant and takes responsibility for robbing and shooting Tupac Shakur in 1994. In 1994, Tupac Shakur was shot during a robbery while entering New York’s Quad Studios.
