Dexter Isaac Confesses To 1994 Robbery/Shooting Of 2Pac

Image
In a statement to AllHipHop, Dexter Isaac calls Jimmy Henchmen a government informant and takes responsibility for robbing and shooting Tupac Shakur in 1994. In 1994, Tupac Shakur was shot during a robbery while entering New York’s Quad Studios. After sustaining five gunshot wounds, Shakur would check himself out of the hospital and attend the sexual abuse trial that would send him to jail one year later. Until his death, ‘Pac maintained that Notorious B.I.G. and Sean Combs were somehow connected to the shooting. He named former B.I.G. associate James “Henchmen” Rosemond in the song “Against All Odds.” On Wednesday, Dexter Isaac told AllHipHop.com that Rosemond paid him $2,500 to rob Shakur. In addition to claiming Rosemond was a government informant, Isaac also cast doubt on Sean Combs. Rosemond the onetime manager of Game, Shyne and Gucci Mane, is currently wanted by the DEA. http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif “In 1994, James Rosemond hired me to rob 2Pac Shakur at the Qua...

New world's shortest man certified in the Philippines

Image
(CNN) -- A man from the Philippines was certified as the world's shortest man this weekend as he reached his 18th birthday, Guinness World Records announced. Junrey Balawing of Sindangan in the southern Philippines is 23.6 inches (60cm) tall, making him nearly three inches shorter than the previous record holder, Khagendra Thapa Magar of Nepal. Balawing was born a normal size, his family said, and they did not notice anything unusual about him until he was about 4 years old and his peers grew more than he did. He has not grown since his first birthday, his parents told Guinness. They are too poor to investigate what medical condition prevented him from growing taller, Guinness said. But they call him "their lucky charm," saying his father Reynaldo, a blacksmith, had been unemployed until he was born, then found a job after his birth. "He needs my care every minute of every day. Junrey can only walk with some help and he can't stand for too long bec...

Rare fungal infection strikes Joplin, Missouri, tornado victims

Image
(CNN) -- Eight people injured by the devastating Joplin, Missouri, tornado have contracted a rare fungal infection, and three have died, officials said Friday. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is assisting state and local health officials, who are investigating the cases. All three individuals who died had serious injuries, as well as fungus, Jasper County Coroner Rob Chappel said. One of the deaths was caused by the infection, called mucormycosis, but the cause of death for the other two victims has not been determined, he said. All eight patients sustained multiple injuries and secondary wound infections, according to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services. The infection can occur when dirt, vegetation or other material becomes lodged under the skin. The death toll from the May tornado stood at 151 on Friday. CDC researcher Dr. Benjamin Park told CNN that in most cases, people with weakened immune systems inhale spores and develop sinus...

Tracy Morgan apologizes for homophobic rant

Image
CNN Tracy Morgan's character on the hit show "30 Rock" is often taken to task by his boss for insensitive remarks, and now the actor finds himself in hot water over homophobic remarks. According to Jezebel, Morgan went into a rant during a comedy show on June 3 in Nashville, Tennessee, and reportedly made several anti-gay statements including saying "how he'd stab his son to death if he said he was gay." The site links out to a note on the Facebook page of Kevin Rogers titled "Why I No Longer Like Tracy Morgan" in which Rogers details what he said happened at the show. "The sad thing is that none of this rant was a joke," Rogers writes. "His entire demeanor changed during that portion of the night. He was truly filled with some hate towards us." The venue where the show was held, Ryman Auditorium, issued the following statement to CNN regarding the incident: “The Ryman Auditorium regrets that people were offended ...

Sexual assault victim records attacker on cell phone (video)

Image
(CNN) -- Police are searching for a man who they say sexually assaulted a woman after she used her cell phone to record the suspect burglarizing her Oakland, California, home. Police released the cell phone footage to the media Wednesday, hoping to identify the man who attacked the 28-year-old woman a day earlier, said Officer Holly Joshi, an Oakland Police Department spokeswoman. The woman, whose identity is being withheld, was at home when she heard a loud noise, according to police. She went to find out what caused the noise when she saw the man in her hallway. The woman managed to capture 13 seconds of footage that shows a man carrying a box of electronics down the hallway of the woman's home. The woman can be heard on the video asking the man to leave. "He mumbles something like OK, bye," Joshi told CNN affiliate KTVU. "But what we do know is that the suspect did not leave after that. He did stay. And he did sexually assault the victim." Jos...

21 bodies found outside of Mexican town

Image
(CNN) -- Mexican authorities on Thursday are following leads on a grisly find from the night before -- 21 bodies, some with signs of torture -- strewn in five separate locations on the outskirts of Morelia, Mexico. Some of the bodies had signs of torture, and other bodies not any, Michoacan state attorney general's office spokesman Jonathan Arredondo told CNN. At least three bodies had bullet wounds and signs of strangulation, he said. The bodies were found just outside several exits to the central Mexican city. Authorities found three piles of five victims each, and two piles with three victims each, Arredondo said. There were notes found at each location, but authorities did not immediately reveal what they said or if any group claimed responsibility. Despite the similarities at the five locations, Arredondo said it was still unknown if all the bodies were linked. Morelia is the capital of the state of Michoacan, which is the territory of the violent Familia Michoa...

Tupac Director Antoine Fuqua Leaves Flick; On Board For Em's 'Southpaw'

Image
(AllHipHop News) After years of trying to get a Tupac Shakur biopic made, fans rejoiced last year when it was announced that director Antoine Fuqua (Training Day, Brooklyn’s Finest) would be helming a feature-length film based on the life and times of one of the greatest rappers, poets, and personality’s of all time. Today, that is no longer the case. The Los Angeles Times reports that Fuqua has left the "Tupac" biopic to direct Dreamworks Pictures’ Southpaw, a boxing project written by “Sons of Anarchy” creator Kurt Sutter and starring Eminem ("8 Mile"). No reason was given for Fuqua’s departure. "Southpaw" tells the story of a left-handed welterweight (Eminem) whose quick rise to stardom turns into a life of trials and tribulations that he must overcome to reclaim his crown. Currently there is no start or release date, but one can expect the film to arrive in theaters no earlier than 2012. Southpaw writer Kurt Sutter said: "I took ...
